1929 Australian Penny - Indian Obverse - Fine
The 1927 Australian Penny was minted in Melbourne, Australia.
Two obverse / reverse die combinations were used during 1927 when making Australian pennies: The 'Indian obverse', and the 'London obverse'.
In each case the same reverse die was used.
Both varieties of this coin are of a similar value.
This is the "Indian Obverse" variety, and is considered relatively common for the period.
I would grade this example as Fine.
The obverse features the robed and crowned bust of King George V facing left, with the legend:
'GEORGIVS V D.G.BRITT:OMN:REX F.D.IND:IMP:'
The reverse shows an inner beaded circle with the words 'ONE HALF PENNY' above a small scroll, surrounded by the legend: 'COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA', and the date below.
