The 1948 New Zealand half crown obverse features the bare head of King George VI facing left. The surrounding legend reads:
'KING GEORGE THE SIXTH'
The reverse shows the NZ Shield of Arms with Maori designs, the Southern Cross, a sheaf of wheat, a lamb suspended by a ribbon, and mining hammers, with 3 ships in between.
Above is the royal crown.
The words 'NEW ZEALAND HALF CROWN' and date surround the main design.
Crafted from cupro-nickel with a weight of 14.14 grams and a diameter of 32mm.
Approx. 1,400,000 were minted.
Supplied in a brand new 2x2 coin holder.
