This is the fifth NCLT Bi-Metal coin struck by the RAM and released in a coin card in 2002 to Commemorate 60 years since the Battle of Sunda Strait which occurred on 28th of February and 1st of March 1942.
The coins are crafted from an aluminium-bronze centre inside a stainless-steel ring and has a smooth 24-sided edge.
Two covers were produced for these coins, one for the HMAS Perth and the other for the U.S.S. Houston
40,983 minted for the HMAS Perth Cover.
Some wear to the outer covers.
