2006 Perth Mint PNC - QEII 80th Birthday

Released to commemorate the 80th Birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The envelope features a 50c and $2.45c stamp and is postmarked 19th April 2006 at Elizabeth in South Australia. The Australian Legal tender 50c coin struck by the Perth Mint uses pad-printing technology.

The reverse features a coloured design of the Queen wearing the Order of the Garter as she is depicted in the famous portrait taken in 1953 by British photographer Cecil Beaton.

The obverse features the standard Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Queen Elizabeth II.

The PNC features an insert card produced by the Perth Mint, depicting a photo taken at the Royal Christening of Princess Elizabeth being held by her proud parents and houses the colourful 50c coin.
