A number of firms manufactured first day envelopes in Australia (pre-1970), the best known of which was Wesley Cover Services (WCS) of Largs North, South Australia.
A very interesting decade as it covered the decimal changeover! So the issues here will encompass both pre-decimal and decimal covers.
A first day of issue cover or first day cover (FDC) is a postage stamp on a cover, postal card or stamped envelope franked on the first day the issue is authorized for use within the country or territory of the stamp-issuing authority.
