1910-1922 German Mark Notes - 100, 1000, 10000, 50000 - Framed

Four German Mark Notes, Presented in Uncirculated Condition, Framed and Ready to Display

Own a piece of history with these four fascinating German Mark notes, dating from a turbulent time in Germany's past. This collection showcases the hyperinflation era of the early 1920s, as well as earlier pre-WWI currency. All notes appear to be in uncirculated condition, a remarkable find for their age. This collection provides a unique perspective on this period, with each pair displayed showing both the front and back of the note. Included are:

• 1920 100 Mark (Germany p69b): Issued on 1.11.1920, this 100 Mark note features dark brown ink with black text on a blue and red under print. The "Bamberg Horseman" (located in Bamberg Cathedral) is prominently displayed at the upper left and right. It features an 8-digit serial number.
• 1910 1000 Mark (Germany p44b): Issued on 21.4.1910, this 1000 Mark note is printed in brown ink and features a red serial number and seal. The back of the note depicts allegorical figures of Navigation and Agriculture. It features a 7-digit serial number.
• 1922 10000 Mark (Germany p70): Issued on 19.1.1922, this 10000 Mark note is printed in blue-green on an olive-green under print. A male portrait by Albrecht Durer (similar to p71) is featured at the right, and the back showcases an eagle in a rectangular ornament. This note illustrates the rapid devaluation of currency during the hyperinflation period.
• 1922 50000 Mark: This stunning example of the soaring figures that characterised the hyperinflation crisis is represented by two notes, showing both the front and back:
  • Front (Germany p79): Issued on 19.11.1922, this 50000 Mark note features black ink on a white background with a green tint at the right. A portrait of Burgermaster Brauweiler by B. Bruyn is featured at the upper left. This note is without an under print.  
  • Back (Germany p80): Also issued on 19.11.1922, this 50000 Mark note features dark brown ink on a pink and green background. The same portrait of Burgermaster Brauweiler by Bruyn is at the upper left. This note has an under print.

These notes have been expertly framed by Keppel Art & Framing (50 Normanby St., Yeppoon, QLD. Tel: 079-39 1774), a member of the Australian Picture Framers Association.

The frames measure 37.3cm x 32.2cm, ensuring their preservation and making them ready to hang and admire.
