The 1917 Australian Half Penny was minted in Calcutta, India with a mintage of approx. 5,760,000.

It is considered relatively common for the period.

The 1917 Australian halfpenny obverse features the robed and crowned bust of King George V facing left, with the legend:

'GEORGIVS V D.G.BRITT:OMN:REX F.D.IND:IMP:'

The reverse shows an inner beaded circle with the words 'ONE HALF PENNY' above a small scroll, surrounded by the legend: 'COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA', and the date below.

It carries an 'I' mintmark below the scroll (Calcutta mint).

I would grade each available coin as Very Good.
