Thee 1942 S Australian Sixpence was minted San Francisco, United States of America, with an approximate mintage of approx. 4,000,000.

It features an 'S' above the date (San Francisco mint mintmark)

During World War II the US mints at San Francisco and Denver were contracted to strike silver coins, and the Indian mint at Bombay to strike bronze coins for Australia.

I would grade this example as Extremely Fine.

The 1942 S Australian sixpence obverse features the bare head of King George VI facing left, with the legend: 'GEORGIVS VI D:G:BR:OMN:REX F:D:IND:IMP.'.

The reverse shows the word 'SIXPENCE' and the Australian Coat of Arms. A kangaroo
and an emu hold a shield, with a star above. Below is a scroll with the words 'ADVANCE AUSTRALIA', then the date underneath.

It carries an 'S' above date (San Francisco mint mark).

Supplied in a brand new 2x2 coin holder.
