The 1948 Australian Sixpence was minted in Melbourne, Australia and comprises of 50% silver 40% copper 10% zinc/nickel.

With approx. 1,594,000 minted, it is slightly harder for the period.

I would grade this coin as Fine.

The 1948 Australian sixpence obverse features features the bare head of King George VI facing left, with the legend: 'GEORGIVS VI D:G:BR:OMN:REX F:D:IND:IMP.'.

The reverse shows the word 'SIXPENCE' and the Australian Coat of Arms. A kangaroo and an emu hold a shield, with a star above. Below is a scroll with the words 'ADVANCE AUSTRALIA', then the date underneath.

Supplied in a brand new 2x2 coin holder.

Please see images for a personal grading as this is the exact coin you will receive.
