The official Royal Mint proof set of the coinage of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Limited edition UK proof annual set for the year 1972, featuring seven Royal Mint base metal coins.

In 1972 Her Majesty the Queen and Prince Phillip celebrated their silver wedding anniversary. To celebrate this royal milestone, The Royal Mint issued a commemorative coin: the first UK decimal Crown with a face value of 25p. This coin featured a reverse designed by Arnold Machin showing the crowned royal cypher with a tiny cherub at the centre surrounded by a floral garland. The anniversary dates feature in the legend.
