2000 HMAS Sydney II Commemorative $1 Coin

This uncirculated aluminum-bronze coin honors the memory of those who lost their lives on the HMAS Sydney II. Issued by the Royal Australian Mint (RAM), it features the 'S' mintmark, indicating production in Sydney. This limited edition coin, with a mintage of only 34,277, was released in a special coin card at the Mobile Press at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.

Damage to the coin card required the coin's removal for preservation purposes. It retains lovely mint lustre.
