About this Coin

To mark the 100th anniversary of Australian Federation in 2001, the Royal Australian Mint released a prestige series of coins representing each state and territory. This 20-cent Proof coin celebrates Victoria by depicting the Royal Exhibition Building, the site of the opening of the first Commonwealth Parliament in 1901. With a total proof mintage including only 10,147 from the 2-coin packs and 13,000 from the 20-coin sets, this is a significantly low-mintage, high-quality strike that is a centrepiece for any serious Centenary of Federation collection.
