2006 BU 50p Coin Pack - The Victoria Cross (1856-2006) - Brilliant Uncirculated

The Victoria Cross is the highest award for gallantry in the face of the enemy. All who have received it have shown conspicuous bravery, many at the cost of their own lives.

The Victoria Cross is given without regard to rank, race, colour or creed. All who have received this most prestigious of decorations are highly esteemed for their selflessness and their steadfast devotion to duty.

Both coin designs commemorate the 150th anniversary of the institution of the Victoria Cross.

The 50p designed by Claire Aldrige focuses on the actual medal and the design by Clive Duncan honours the heroic acts performed by the recipients.

The coins are in a presentation folder and are of uncirculated quality and have been carefully handled to avoid damage.
