2015 United Kingdom £50 Britannia – Fine Silver Coin

In 2015, the Royal Mint continued its popular series of non-circulating legal tender denominations by releasing the first-ever £50 face value coin. Struck in 0.999 fine silver, this Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) coin features a contemporary and powerful interpretation of Britannia, the female personification of the British Isles.

This release is particularly significant as it was among the first UK coins to feature the fifth definitive coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, both sides of the coin having been designed by the renowned engraver Jody Clark.
