This Limited Edition BU Fifty Pence is a historically significant collectible coin, being the first UK coin issued in the reign of King Charles III and the first to feature his new definitive coinage portrait. It commemorates the life and legacy of Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away on 8 September 2022.

The Royal Mint struck this coin as part of a new collection issued in her memory. Its reverse is a poignant tribute to British coinage heritage, seventy years after she acceded to the throne.

• Historic Significance: First UK coin to feature the definitive coinage portrait of King Charles III.
• New Obverse: Features the portrait of King Charles III, facing left (as per tradition), designed by sculptor Martin Jennings. The legend reads: 'CHARLES III · D · G · REX · F · D · 50 PENCE'.
• Memorial Reverse: The reverse design is a recreation of the 1953 Coronation Crown, designed by Edgar Fuller and Cecil Thomas, featuring the Royal Arms shields and national flowers (rose, thistle, shamrock, and leek) around a central crown.
• Quality: Struck to Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) finish, allowing collectors to enjoy all the fine detail.
• Composition: Struck in cupronickel (same weight and dimensions as a standard circulating coin: 8.00g, 27.30mm).
• Presentation: The finish is protected by the original Royal Mint packaging.
