2013 $1 Uncirculated Coin - Bicentenary of the Holey Dollar & Dump - Select Your Variety
Celebrate the 200th anniversary of Australia's first official currency with the 2013 Bicentenary of the Holey Dollar & Dump commemorative $1 coin collection. Originally created in 1813 by Governor Lachlan Macquarie and crafted by pardoned convict forger William Henshall from Spanish Silver Dollars, the Holey Dollar and Dump solved a severe currency shortage in early colonial New South Wales and established Australia's sovereign monetary history.
Issued by the Royal Australian Mint, these commemorative uncirculated $1 coins feature special mintmark and show-exclusive counterstamp releases from major national numismatic expos.
