About this Coin

This 20 Cent coin pays tribute to the Australian air and ground crew who were part of 'Bomber Command' during the Second World War. They were involved in significant operations such as the Battle of Berlin, D-Day and the Battle of the Ruhr. The most famous Bomber flown by the Australian squadrons was an Avro Lancaster named "G for George", which completed 89 operations with no loss of crew members. With a mintage of only 248,300, this coin is a significant addition to any collection honouring Australia's military history.
