An extremely limited release, with only 10,000 sets minted, this 2017 Planetary Coins collection is a scarce find these days.
Presented in an exciting pop-up book packaging, bursting with information about our Solar System, this set is a true celebration of engineering, science, artistry, innovation, and imagination.
This is a first-of-its-kind collection from the Royal Australian Mint, bringing together such an extensive variety of blanks into one stunning set.
The 10-coin set includes:
- Sun: $5, Aluminium/Zinc/Bronze, 38.74mm diameter
- Mercury: 5c, Cupro/Nickel, 19.41mm diameter
- Venus: 2c, Bronze, 21.59mm diameter
- Earth: 10c, Cupro/Nickel, 23.60mm diameter
- Mars: $2, Aluminium/Bronze, 20.50mm diameter
- Jupiter: 50c, Cupro/Nickel, 31.51mm diameter
- Saturn: $5, Stainless Steel & Al/Bronze, 28.00mm diameter
- Uranus: 20c, Cupro/Nickel, 28.52mm diameter
- Neptune: $1, Aluminium/Bronze, 25.00mm diameter
- Pluto: 1c, Bronze, 25.00mm diameter
Condition Notes: The outer cover remains in good condition, with some marks and prints from use. The inner pages have some small tears along the spine (as pictured), and there are creases to the Uranus display (as shown). The coins themselves remain in their sealed folders as issued.
