Natural History of the Barrier Reef Anemonefish

Reaching approximately 12 centimetres in length, this species is famous for its symbiotic relationship with sea anemones. While the anemone's stinging tentacles provide the fish with a safe haven from predators, the Anemonefish returns the favour by cleaning and providing nutrients to its host. This species is endemic to the northern regions of the Great Barrier Reef, making it a perfect representative for the Sunshine State.
