2025 PNC - 30th Anniversary of the Torres Strait Islander Flag Postal Numismatic Cover

• This commemorative Postal Numismatic Cover celebrates 30 years of the Torres Strait Islander Flag as an official "Flag of Australia".
• It includes a $2 coloured circulating coin, struck by the Royal Australian Mint for this special occasion.
• Only 7,000 of these covers were produced, making it a limited-edition release.
  

Designed by the late Bernard Namok from Thursday Island, the flag is a proud symbol of the unity and identity of all Torres Strait Islanders. The design elements carry deep significance: green for the land, blue for the sea, black for the people, and the white dhari (headdress) used in cultural ceremonies. The five-pointed star represents peace and the importance of stars for the seafaring people of the Torres Strait.

This release honours the enduring strength, traditions, and contributions of Torres Strait Islander peoples to the fabric of our nation.
