2000 Australian One Dollar Coin - Australia's First Victoria Cross - RARE NCLT
Issued by the R.A.M in 2000, this uncirculated al/bronze $1 coin was released to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Australia's first Victoria Cross medal for gallantry being awarded to Captain Neville Howse on July 24 1900.
The reverse, designed by Wojciech Pietranik depicts a Victoria Cross medal with the legend "Victoria Cross One Dollar". In small letters on either side of the medal is the caption "Capt. N. Howse 24 July 1900".
A total of 99,809 of this coin were minted, with 49,979 being released in these coin cards, and 49,830 in PNC's.
