About this Coin
This coin holds a unique place in Australian numismatic history as one of the first "Quarters" ever issued by the Royal Australian Mint. It commemorates the fierce Battle of Long Tan in the Vietnam War, where D Company 6RAR held their ground against larger enemy forces. While this was a victory for the Allies, the Kokoda campaign resulted in heavy Australian casualties. With a mintage of only 271,200, this coin is a significant and valued addition to any collection honouring Australia's military history.
