Product Description
Issued as Issue 15 by Australia Post in partnership with the Royal Australian Mint, this cover celebrates Bob Jane's historic victory in the 1971 Australian Touring Car Championship (ATCC). Presented in a full-colour pictorial envelope showcasing the car in action, this release is an essential piece for motorsport, Supercars, and Chevrolet collectors.
- Coin Details: Uncirculated cupro-nickel 50c coin featuring a multi-coloured reverse design of the iconic orange #7 Camaro ZL-1 and the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse.
- Philatelic Details: Features an official Australia Post stamp with a dedicated Chevrolet Camaro ZL-1 tab from the 60 Years of Supercars stamp pack.
- Production Limit: Strictly limited to 6,500 covers worldwide.
To end an eight-year championship drought, Melbourne businessman Bob Jane imported a rare 7.0-litre V8 Chevrolet Camaro ZL-1—one of only 69 produced globally. Boasting a mammoth 450kW of power, the bright orange coupe dominated the track to overcome Allan Moffat's Mustang and secure the 1971 ATCC title.
