2021 Craig Lowndes: Holden VS Commodore Stamp and Coin Cover (PNC)
Australia Post – Royal Australian Mint (Issue 6)
- A Debut for the Ages: Commemorates one of the most explosive entry seasons in Australian motorsport history. In 1996, a young Craig Lowndes redefined the sport by winning the Australian Touring Car Championship, the Sandown 500, and the Bathurst 1000 in his debut year driving the iconic Holden VS Commodore.
- The "Kid" Takes Control: Lowndes’ dominance in the VS Commodore for the Holden Racing Team (HRT) signaled a changing of the guard, bringing a fresh energy and a massive new fan base to V8 Supercars.
- Coloured 50c Uncirculated Coin: Struck by the Royal Australian Mint, this cupro-nickel coin features a vibrant, multi-coloured reverse design of the #15 HRT VS Commodore.
- Note: While part of the 2021 PNC series, the coin carries a 2020 year-date.
- Obverse Details: Features the Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, marking a transition in the series' portraiture.
- Commemorative Stamp and Tab: Affixed with an official Australia Post stamp featuring a special Holden VS Commodore tab from the 60 Years of Supercars stamp pack.
- Premium Presentation: Housed in a full-colour pictorial envelope featuring action shots of the "Kid" and his VS Commodore, alongside a detailed insert card outlining the 1996 Triple Crown season.
- Highly Restricted Mintage: A cornerstone for Holden and "Lowndesy" fans, with a strictly limited production of only 6,500 units worldwide.
- Condition: Excellent condition. The coin remains in uncirculated condition. Some minor shelf wear may be present on the outer envelope.
