His Majesty The King, christened Charles Philip Arthur George, was born at Buckingham Palace on 14 November 1948. He is the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. Upon the passing of his mother on 8 September 2022, after over 70 years as the heir apparent, he ascended to the throne, becoming King Charles III.
