About this Coin

Struck during the Severan period, this silver denarius depicts the notorious Emperor Caracalla, best known for his construction of the iconic Baths of Caracalla and his decree granting Roman citizenship to all free men across the empire. The BRIT obverse legend links this specific issue directly to the brutal Severan campaigns in Caledonia (modern Scotland) between AD 208 and 211. Boasting a striking, high-detail portrait, clean silver surfaces, and significant military-historical context, this specimen is a premium addition to any ancient Roman imperial collection.
